Music Museum Prague

Situated in Lesser Karmelitská Street, a former church of Mary Magdalene, today houses the Czech Museum of Music. It has a very interesting history. Its well-preserved dome highlights its original mission. The short octagonal shape, finished with a low roof still has an octahedral superstructure. The dome is clearly visible from many Prague views and is a focal point in the maze of the Lesser Town roofs.
The last reconstruction took place in 2002-2004. The main architect was Thomas Šantavý. He created a wonderful space for Czech Museum of Music, which is part of the National Museum. The exhibition was opened to visitors on 19 November 2004.
